About

I am a Clinical Associate Professor in the Economics Department at Arizona State University. My main research interests are Economic Growth, Economic Development, and Financial Economics. I am specifically interested in the impact of economic institutions on the growth and development performance of countries and the impact of information and economic institutions on the performance of financial markets. In addition, I am also interested in the scholarship of teaching in learning.

Currently, I am working on a research project exploring the impact of natural resource revenues on the transparency of countries. This is a joint project with Hamid Mohtadi from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Michael Ross from UCLA. The project has received financial support from the Economic Research Forum.

I am also working on adaptive courseware development, in-class instructional materials, instructional videos, and curriculum design in collaboration with colleagues from ASU, Joana Girante, Dale Johnson and Peter van Leusen, and Cengage Learning Objects.
